 Saskatchewan (SK) is one of the three prairie provinces in Canada. It is bordered on the west by Alberta, on the north by the Northwest Territories, on the east by Manitoba, and on the south by the US states of Montana and North Dakota. Saskatchewan became a province in 1905.
Saskatchewan has no metropolitan centre. Regina is the province's capital and is located in the southern half of the province.

Saskatoon is the province's largest city. Regina and Saskatoon serve respectively as southern and northern economic "capitals."
Prince Albert is the province's most northerly city and acts as a "gateway to the
north." Other major cities include Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Swift Current and North Battleford.
Saskatchewan's major industries are agriculture, mining, and energy.
