 Alberta (AB) is located in western Canada and is the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces. Alberta was established as a province on September 1, 1905. It is bounded by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the U.S. state of Montana to the south.

the Rocky Mountains along the southwestern boundary are largely forested. The southern quarter of the province is prairie. The central aspen parkland region has the most fertile soil in the province and most of the population. Much of this area is either grain or dairy farming, while ranching and irrigated agriculture predominate in the south. The Alberta badlands are also located in southeastern Alberta and feature deep canyons and striking landforms.
Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, centrally located and is the primary supply and service hub for Canada's oil sands. Approximately 300 kilometres (190 mi) south of the capital is Calgary, Alberta's largest city and a major distribution and transportation hub. Almost 75% of the province's population lives in the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor.

The Canadian Monopoly Board Game was originally designed in 1982. An online vote for favourite cities was taken for a redesign in 2010. It includes cities such as Chilliwack, Sarnia and Medicine Hat, as well as Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa.
